Citrullus L. is a largest genus of vascular plants belongs in the family( Cucurbitaceae ) comprising over 130 species spread throughout the would.Species of Citrullus L. used for medicinal properties such as jaundice asthma and especially for the management of diabetes. Citrullus L.were recorded for the treatment of diabeties. A total 10 species of genus Citrullus L.were recorded for the treatment of diabeties.This data was collacted from various review paper using different websites like Google scholar, pubmed,Scopus, science direct,web of science and research gate Genus Citrullus is rich in bioactive compound including phenolic acid, alkaloids, Flavonoids, and tannins, Glycosides , phenolic acid are present in large guontities in Citrullus species L. have been used as herbal remedies for diabeties in different cultures Citrullus species anti microbial activity against E coli, aspergillus and Bacillus subtilis Citrullus species possesive antioxidant activity prevent oxidative damage to cells. Some Citrullus species such as Citrullus colocynthis L. and Citrullus lanatus such as weight loss of feteus.It is concluded that Citrullus species have high medicinal values especially for the treatment of diabetes values,anti microbial,anti oxidant activity .more research is required for the breast inflammation treatment, antiviral research and source of novel pharmaceuticals
