Diabetic patients with multivessel diffuse coronary artery disease (CAD) pose a significant challenge in interventional cardiology due to extensive lesion burden and elevated risk of restenosis. Although drug-eluting stents (DES) are widely utilized, their limitations in this high-risk subgroup have led to increased interest in hybrid percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), which integrates DES with drug-coated balloon (DCB) angioplasty to reduce metal load and improve clinical outcomes. This study aimed to assess the short-term efficacy and safety of a hybrid PCI approach compared to a DES-only strategy in diabetic patients with multivessel diffuse CAD.
