Green Synthesis of Morin Hydride and Its Neuropharmacological Potential Against Neurodegenerative Disorders

The neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and Huntington's disease arise from various issues with neuron degeneration processes, oxidative damage, neuroinflammation, or mitochondrial dysfunction. The green technique gained a lot of attraction due to its eco-friendly feature as an effective and sustainable way of producing bioactive compounds, leaving aside toxic substances. Morin hydride has shown excellent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective properties, making it a great candidate for treating neurodegenerative diseases. The green synthesis method is more recommended because of its usage of plant extracts and environmentally friendly reagents that make its production simpler and safer. The experimental studies have shown that morin hydride can protect neurons with the help of ROS scavenging, decreasing inflammatory mediators, avoiding mitochondrial dysfunction, regulation of apoptosis, and preservation of neurotransmitter balance. We can make this conclusion because of the fact of improved cognitive and motor functions that were showed through the presence of morin in some experimental models of neurodegeneration. However, we still need more pharmacokinetic, toxicological, and clinical studies to prove that the substance is safe for humans.
